How to stay active when the schedule is too full

Life is tough sometimes, it's hard to make time for the things that matter most sometimes. That goes for a lot of different things. Though going to the gym and being in that routine can benefit your dedication to the goal you're trying to achieve, some days it just doesn't fit but you can make up for it.

Ways to stay fit around the workday

  • If you commute to work, try getting off one stop before your destination to get the extra steps in. 
  • If you work at a desk, invest in a under-desk pedal machine. It's similar to a stationary bike but much smaller and fits underneath your desk.
  • Form a lunch walking group, I've had family members who work in the city and such make groups to go on walks with a group during the lunch hour. If they eat during the workday while working then this won't take away from daily nutrition and will give you an extra time to get some steps in.

Staying fit around the house

  • Do yoga before bed, this will help stretch your body and relax your mind before you wind down for the night. 
  • When vacuuming and mopping around the house, incorporate stretches into the walking rhythm you use
  • Lift light weights while watching tv

Doing a few of these on the days you have off can really benefit overall mindset of your goals. It'll help keep you from feeling like you're failing and better your confidence.
